It has been a crazy weekend.
It all started Friday evening when Jamie decided to finish building the firepit out of some "found" bricks and it looked really good. We decided to have a mini hot dog roast right there, and I went inside to get the hot dogs and Katie called to ask if she could come over for a visit. So I said sure, come on over.
The three of us stood in the backyard catching up and roasting some hot dogs when we heard something thrashing around in the woods and slowly made our way back to the house, because that is scary. Jamie and Katie both said it was probably a deer or a moose, but I am convinced it was a sasquatch.
Once we got inside Katie decided to have a drink I guess so she filled a glass with whiskey and went to town, and at around 2:00 am she sort of passed out on the couch, signalling the end of the evening. I set the alarm to get up for yard sales and we went to bed.
I woke up really, really stiff because Katie is a bed hog, and Jamie had suggested that he sleep on the couch so we could sleep together "like old times". She spent most of the night in the middle of the bed, while I squished my head between the two pillows and held on for dear life. The last thing I want to do when I am 8 months pregnant is fall out of bed.
Anyway so Katie left and Jamie and I went to hit the yard sales. At first it was almost raining but it quickly changed to actually raining. We stopped at quite a few, and picked up: a sewing machine, a little scrapbook kit, a hook thing for the bathroom wall to hang our towels on, a "welcome" sign, some oil for the free lamp Jamie got the other day, an mp3 player for Jamie, a baby/prenatal monitor, etc. We never found anything we were really looking for, like a small dresser and change table for the baby's room.
When we got home we kind of lazed around, watched Transformers, and slowly I decided I better start picking up around the house if I was going to be having company. I had no idea who would show up, or when, but I knew someone would come eventually.
Katrina and Dusty were the first to get here, followed by Jamie, followed by Amanda. We all had a nice chat but Dusty wanted to go watch "the game" and we don't have TV yet, so they left a little after 9:00 pm. Then Amanda and I decided to go kidnap Kyle since Holly was still somewhere between Moncton and Fredericton.
Holly didn't get home from Moncton until I guess elevenish, so they obviously weren't coming anymore, when you spend an entire day in Moncton shopping you generally don't feel like going out after that. I know I wouldn't.
Amanda and Kyle stayed until about 1:00 am and then poor Amanda drove Kyle home, I can imagine how fun that was! Then Jamie and I stayed up a bit later tidying up some things and started to watch a movie, but I was so tired I was like falling asleep sitting up. I fell asleep within seconds of getting in bed and slept like a log right up until after noon today. I feel like I could still sleep.
I am not used to so much activity! It's fun but very exhausting.
