Well life in the new house is great so far. Only a few minor problems have been discovered. One is that the hot and cold is on backwards in the bathtub. It was very frustrating to try and figure that one out, and you would think the previous residents could have mentioned that in the note they left for us. But all the note said was what they had done since they moved in a year ago, which was quite a bit, but mostly small stuff. All I know is they painted rooms that did not need to be painted. Burgundy. Blech.
There are a lot of ant hills around, and Jamie enjoys trying to find ways to murder them, with regular household cleaners and whatnot. But apparently ants are very hardy creatures because they keep building up their trampled little homes over and over, despite their depleting ranks.
All of our neighbors seem quiet. Only one has introduced himself, and probably only because his dog loves to run over and be excited about things. The neighbors directly across appear to be older, and the ones diagonal to us are moving soon anyway so I don't care about them.
My days haven't gotten any less monotonous, but they seem better here. I think it's because the floors don't squeak, and I can't hear a crazy lady singing off-key all day long, or the Chinese people having huge conversations while clogging down the hallway. And the refrigerator doesn't explode in loud noises every morning at three a.m.
